EU Commission publishes new draft on maximum permitted levels of acrylamide in foods for infants and young children



Acrylamide in foods

According to the current draft of the regulation for the evaluation of the maximum levels of acrylamide, new limit values for infant and young children food are set. In the case of products for infants and young children, a limit of 150 µg/kg for biscuits and rusk and 50 µg/kg for baby food and processed cereal-based foods is envisaged.

These limit values are to apply to foodstuffs placed on the market from 01.01.2021.
