Additional issuing point for people in need due to Corona

Again this year, the Kirchhoff Berlin Institute is supporting the social work of the Berliner Tafel with a donation and has handed over a check to the chairwoman, Ms. Werth. Due to Corona, the Berliner Tafel has temporarily additional issuing points, such as the fan house of the 1st FC Union Berlin in Köpenick. In order to guarantee the additional extensive logistics, the Berliner Tafel will rent additional vehicles with this money. The current situation is very demanding, but thanks to the many volunteers and supporters, the Berliner Tafel can continue to reach around 125,000 needy people a month in over 45 distribution points and 300 social institutions and support them with food.

Project event and meeting place for children with cancer

The association KINDERHILFE Help for children with cancer and seriously ill children e.V. has existed for over 36 years and works sustainably through targeted projects to help the parents affected in this difficult life situation. Kinderhilfe currently looks after 110 families whose children suffer from leukemia, other cancers, severe epilepsy or heart and lung diseases. Due to the corona pandemic, the living situation of the families affected is changing significantly. The donation from the Institut Kirchhoff Berlin will be used by Kinderhilfe to rent suitable rooms for an event and meeting place for the families affected by the situation changed by Corona.
