The European Commission published a new draft assessment of the maximum levels for pyrrolizidine alkaloids. It provides maximum levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids in foodstuffs (e.g. tea, herbs, spices, pollen and pollen products). The new maximum levels will come into effect from July 1st 2022. The new draft also defines the summation of 21 pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
