Visit from state senator Dilek Kolat

When Dilek Kolat, Berlin state senator for Work, Women and Integration visited the Institut Kirchhoff Berlin GmbH, two things topped the agenda. One was an introduction to the institute and its services, focusing on quality and consumer protection, and the other was the rich laboratory history of the Friedenau district.

During a conversation with
management and a guided tour of the company, Ms Kolat received lots of insight into the chemical, physical, molecular bioligical and microbiological tests of food, feed, water, utensils and cosmetics using state of the art, highly sensitive analysis equipment. She learned more about the institute’s work, and took a look over the shoulders of our qualified laboratory technicians as they went about their day-to-day work.

There was also discussion on the development of Berlin’s Breslauer Platz, and especially the fountains there. These are financially supported by the institute, and our regular water quality inspections will be integrated into the concept.
