Institut Kirchhoff Berlin GmbH

Quality management

In order to secure our current and future competitiveness, preventative and corrective measures are continuously implemented into our quality management system. Preventative measures are at the forefront of this. Upon publishing the respective results, the institute takes on a significant amount of responsibility. The quality of the institute’s work is therefore essential.

Neutrality and objectivity

In order to guarantee impartiality and integrity, the Institut Kirchhoff Berlin GmbH is not exposed to commercial, financial or any other influences which could compromise our technical judgements. Neither can external people or organisations influence the results of our investigations. The institute does not undertake tasks that could reduce trust in the independence of its inspection works. Inspections according to procedures that reduce the objectivity of the result are not carried out. Renumeration of personnel is based neither on the the number of inspections carried out, nor their results.

The structure and operations of the institute are organised so that the requirements of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020 are observed and fulfilled. This is complemented by standard work instructions as well as random sampling by independent quality assurance staff in accordance with OECD principles of good laboratory practice, to ensure that these directives are observed. At regular intervals, the German Accreditation Agency (DAkkS) examines the high quality in our institute and our implementation of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020.

The inspection methods used for this examination (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025) have been validated. The scope of the possible examinations can be found in the accreditation certificate’s appendix. Approximately 500 parameters in 33 working areas are listed. 22 of these working areas are flexibly accredited. Other methods that are part of our range of services, but which are not explicitly stated, are also accredited if they belong to one of the flexible working areas.

For more information on this topic, our regularly trained staff would be pleased to assist.
